I first stayed here ten years ago, and this was my second visit. The grounds are genuinely beautiful, and the renovated rooms look great. The staff seem friendly, but the service felt slow and inefficient. As the days passed, little annoyances added up. Sleep could be a problem: the walls are paper-thin, so you hear people upstairs, and the pillows are very thick and hard. Ground-floor rooms have lovely patios and look prettiest, but they’re noisier, so it might be worth asking for a top-floor room. Many showers also don’t drain properly. Breakfast was decent, though one of the men working there told me the whole mangoes and pineapples were “just for show,” not for guests to eat. And the morning music got old fast. I stayed seven days, and the same ten songs played over and over until I could predict the next Frank Sinatra track. It starts out charming and ends up monotonous and frustrating.

The beach was beautiful, with water so shallow that a six-foot adult could walk about 100 yards out before it reached shoulder depth. The restaurant food was delicious, and the wait staff were great there as well as at the beach and pool bar. Landy at reception did a wonderful job helping with what we needed. Francisco, Victor, and Jose treated my family and me well too. The grounds were kept up nicely, and our clean room was maintained daily. The door setup for getting to our deck was odd, and the spiral stairs to our room weren’t always easy to navigate. Those were minor issues, and even added a little charm. Fabulous place.

I don’t really understand the negative reviews. The hotel seems to have had major improvements. Check-in, the room, pool, and beach all went smoothly for us. Breakfast had lots of choice and high-quality food, and was excellent. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We had a really good two-night stay. The staff were welcoming and kind, and the room was beautiful, almost like new. The hotel pool was very pleasant, and having direct beach access was a real bonus. We ate breakfast both mornings. It was good, with plenty to choose from and more savory than sweet options, so there was something for everyone. I’d definitely recommend the place.

This place deserves more than its 4.1 rating. Everything was clean and breakfast was perfect. The price on their website was unbeatable, about three times lower than Booking.com. We came with our two small kids and loved the peaceful location. We booked three nights, then added two more.
