Chac Chi Hotel and Suites

It's in a quieter part of town, and the hotel feels chic and comfortable. The bed is very large, the installations are new after a recent renovation, and there's powerful AC and even a smart TV. The room is thoughtfully laid out with his and her sinks, and the on-site pool facilities are well maintained.

A nice small hotel with rooms listed on air bnb. It's in a good mid-island spot, and rides north or south cost 50 pesos per person.

The staff were super friendly, and the price was a real bargain. I visited in low season and think I was the only guest for most of my stay. The rooms and suites are huge, with a comfortable bed, great shower, good temperature control, and a cute pool. Breakfast was a little lacking, but fine for a few days: cornflakes, toast, coffee, bananas, and some sort of orange drink. The only real frustration was the Wi-Fi sign-in. Apple devices needed to authenticate again every time they went to sleep. The Android password manager handled it, but if you didn't wake up your device and reconnect, you wouldn't get new messages, like an email asking for an update. This would easily be a 5 star review if they fixed the Wi-Fi setup.

The room was good, and otherwise it was great. Just expect to pay 100 pacos a day for trips to and from North Beach and Centro, and about 80 one way to Punta Cur and garaffon. Shower pressure was very poor, and the water was warm rather than very hot. Breakfast was included, but only bread, cereal, and fruit.
