Hotel Villa Kiin

I had no major complaints, and the hotel deserves a better rating. I was in a newer room where everything worked: wifi, hot water, and the safe. There was a large balcony with a sea view, a nice breeze, palm trees, and a pool. It's right on the beach but set back a little from the busiest, noisiest area.

The location is great, and it's the only reason I'd choose this hotel. I stayed for four days. The daytime receptionist wasn't very warm or welcoming, and the rooms with thatched roofs were much too dark. The window only opens about six inches. The rooms in the other building were nicer, with a pleasant balcony and rocking chairs. The breakfast ticket wasn't much use. The coffee tasted instant and the juice wasn't juice. One morning breakfast was a single slice of French toast; another day, two slices of toast made with plain store-bought bread.

These are simple rooms, and we only needed somewhere clean and safe to sleep, so they suited us perfectly. The balcony had a beautiful view, the staff were very kind and helpful, and the location is hard to beat: Playa Norte is a minute away at this price. Breakfast was basic, just coffee, OJ, and toast, but a nice extra since there's no coffee maker in the room. They even provided beach towels, which we hadn't expected. If you want a clean bed in a great spot, Villa Kiin is a good fit. If you'll spend a lot of time in the room, look elsewhere. We'll definitely return.

Villa Kiin is a cozy, quiet place with clean rooms and a peaceful feel. It's simple but comfortable, and its more local, laid-back character is part of the charm. It's not a luxury resort. Playa Norte is close by, and you can walk to the town center, while still being far enough from the noise. I really enjoyed staying here and recommend it if you want a small place to rest and recharge.
