Ixchel - Ground Floor Standard Room 2107

The hotel sits on one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever visited, and the location couldn’t be better. We were there for four days in March 2026, and the staff were attentive and wonderful.

We really enjoyed the north of the island, which is a special place. The hotel is close to the island’s best beach and the popular area with lots of good restaurants and food stands. The beds were comfortable, and the AC worked great. We’d stay again if the noise issue were solved. There was a club between Ixchel’s two buildings, and it held major parties on two of our three nights. Booming bass filled our room until around 4 or 5am. I understand the club isn’t affiliated with Ixchel, but the noise still affects hotel guests and is completely unacceptable at that level. I’m surprised more reviews don’t mention how bad it was. It isn’t the hotel’s fault, but until something changes, future guests should know they may be affected.

Martha and Mike (Carlos) went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Martha was patient and explained everything in detail, while Mike was always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. The Ixchel staff kept checking that our stay was going smoothly and took care of our needs. Our room was lovely, neat, and clean, with a large, fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom, and a beautiful view from the bedroom. We’re so grateful for our experience at Ixchel hotel and will definitely return. We recommend it to anyone staying in Isla mujeres. You won’t be disappointed!

It’s a family-friendly hotel, and the staff were helpful, but this wasn’t my favorite stay. Be ready for extra charges. I thought I’d booked for three people, but the reservation was apparently for only two, so I had to pay for the additional person. They said rates are based on each guest over age 12, and I’m not sure how that works for families with teenagers. The pool is close to the beach, so it inevitably had some sand in it. The streets in Isla Mujeres can be tricky to cross because everyone uses motorcycles. Also, the hotel floors are very slippery, even when dry, so it’s easy to slip.
