Sol Caribe

I booked based on the advertised shuttle service and asked whether it was actually running before cancelling. They didn't answer until after I requested the cancellation, when they told me the shuttle wasn't operating. That wasn't disclosed up front, and the lack of transparency was disappointing. They never answer your question, so future guests should confirm important amenities beforehand.

The rooftop is beautiful, and the rooms are clean, with lots of kitchen supplies. It's good value and close to the ferry and Playa Norte, but the rooms are small and everything feels narrow, including the hallways, entrance and rooms. There are steep, narrow steps everywhere, no place to park a golf cart, and the WiFi is very slow. Plan to handle everything yourself. The staff didn't help at all and weren't friendly. That's why I left a below average review, along with the stairs and cramped layout. There are plenty of other budget friendly hotels on the island, and I wouldn't stay here again.

Alberto was so kind and helpful. We loved our roomy room, with its great kitchen and bathroom, and the rooftop was a lovely place to take in the views in the morning and at night. We'd stay here again.

The rooftop terrace was amazing, and we would have tried the grill and cooking area if we'd stayed longer. This little hotel was handy for shops and restaurants without being right in the middle of the chaos. The rooms were small, but very clean and had everything we needed. We loved it.
