Suites Los Arcos

Everything was modern and renovated, and it was all super nice until I went to shower. They spent all that money and still fell way short with the shower head. I think they broke a Guinness World Record for finding the smallest, oldest one around here. If not for that, this hotel would be at the top of my list. Such a simple upgrade, and it fell so far short. Total bummer.

We've stayed here several times and loved it. It's affordable and clean, right on Hidalgo street. The beds are very firm, and cover bands play late, so it's not a quiet place. Still, the music adds to the lively feel of the walking street.

The balcony looked out over El Patio, and we loved hearing the live acoustic music while we got ready for dinner. It became something I looked forward to every day. The location is about as good as it gets, and our room had what we needed, though a blow dryer would have been handy. We did spot a few cockroaches, more than one but not many. It didn't spoil the stay, and I'd still happily recommend the place.

Right on the main street and about five minutes from North Playa, with shops and a bar with live music across the road. The price was great, the place had been fully renovated, and the staff were very nice. There's air conditioning and a shower, though the hot water can take 10-15 minutes to come through and never gets very hot. The TV reception was poor, and the channels were only in Spanish. At other hotels I've been able to switch some channels to English.
