Hotel Ixzi Plus

The rooms are big, but there's no refrigerator or kettle for tea, and the in-room internet isn't very good. The small restaurant is only open from 8-12pm. The location is remote, with no beach or walking areas nearby. Service is okay, depending on who's at the front desk. Some of the guys are nice and some aren't. The staff speak only Spanish.

It's a beautiful place in a nice, very quiet area. Downtown Ixtapa is a 30-minute walk, and the quaint, authentic neighborhood of La Puerta is 25 minutes away on foot. If you want a nicer small hotel with a good pool, this will do well. Staff service is lacking, though, so look elsewhere if you're after a beautiful place with top-notch service.

I had a great experience and liked everything about the hotel. The location wasn't ideal, but I knew that before booking, so I don't count it as a complaint. The only changes I'd want are Wi-Fi in the room, since the signal is very weak, and windows that open. The rooms have a humid smell.

The room was spacious, and the hotel has a nice pool, garden, and sandy walkway if you get a ground-floor room. There's a restaurant inside, but they could improve the food choices and offer it at night. Someone on the morning reception shift speaks English, and the staff can arrange a taxi when called. The hotel isn't very near the beach, but a taxi costs 90 pesos. The room is economical, so I think it's worth staying here and taking taxis to nearby beaches, especially since you'll probably visit several anyway and don't need to pay more to be beside just one. The person at reception can also suggest places to see. He recommended playa da Linda, playa da principal, and Paseo del pescador.
