The resort is in a great spot, within walking distance of the plaza and markets, and watching the crocodiles on site was really interesting. The Aqua Suites were beautiful, with a lovely sunset and bay view, a good buffet selection, and an excellent on-site restaurant, El Farro. But there’s a lot of steep walking, and the shuttles were unreliable. Beware, the suites are under construction: jackhammers and banging went on all day, with dump trucks below at night. We weren’t told about the work when we booked, or we’d have stayed elsewhere. After two days of complaints, we were moved to Pacifica Grand in Zihuatanejo. I also ruined my shorts on a stained bench and got no compensation.

The units have everything you need, and the sunsets and million-dollar view are the best in Ixtapa. They’re high up the hill, even though the pictures show the beach. I’ve been coming to the Pacifica Club resort almost every year since 1987, and staying at Aqua for the past eight years. I love it and will keep returning until I can’t.
