Cozy Stay with onsite Pool Near Malecon

The location is good, there’s laundry onsite for 200 pesos, and for a longer stay it may be worth asking about a cash discount. I hate leaving a partly negative review because the owner is doing her best, but the room change really affected my stay. At first I had an interior double on the first floor. I slept wonderfully there: the AC worked well, and it was quiet apart from a worker playing things on his phone in the common area at 7 pm, which was a bit annoying. Later I was told the Cabana/Family Room had opened up after the AirBnB guests left. That turned into a nightmare. It was very loud on a busy street, with hardly any sound insulation, despite being told it would be okay at night. The AC barely worked during the host afternoons. I checked out early and gave up the days I’d already paid for. There’s a reason the Family Room is usually available, apart from its price.

The AC is awesome, and it’s very quiet at night, so it’s a good place to rest. It’s a bit far from the beach, but I do recommend staying here.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and usually around, with an intercom if you need them. There’s even a resident cat. We liked the hotel and town enough to extend our visit, and they kindly gave us a late checkout at no extra cost. The boardwalk, or malecón, is two blocks away and lovely for a walk or jog in the cooler mornings and evenings. Local restaurants and a convenience store are close by, while safe swimming beaches take a short taxi or bus ride. Our room was comfortably sized, with a small private balcony and a partial view of the area. The AC worked well, and there was a fridge, Smart TV, and a decent bathroom with a good shower. Around the property, several outdoor seating spots have tables overlooking the area, nice places to sit when it isn’t too hot. There’s also a shared kitchen with tea and coffee, a hot and cold water dispenser, and laundry service. Getting there from the airport took a taxi. Uber can’t pick passengers up there, but luckily a Didi driver was waiting just outside the exit. There’s no public transport from the airport. We had a great stay and would happily come back.
