We left after about four hours because we couldn’t sleep. On New Year’s Eve, our room faced a VERY LOUD party, and nobody had warned us. We expected the high-rise hotel to put us far enough from the celebration for a quiet night, but there was no peace and no sleep. The room was otherwise comfortable enough, but not at that price. The ceiling had stains and water bubbles, and the bathroom floor was dirty. They later refused a refund and offered a stay at another time, but we could never return somewhere we can’t actually sleep. I’m very frustrated and angry. Unless you’re young and enjoy partying, I don’t recommend it.

We were kept awake until well past midnight by a wedding outside near the pool, so this wasn’t a good stay overall. The hotel room was nice and comfortable, except for a horrible drain smell in the bathroom. A very strong plug-in air freshener seemed to be covering it up, so I removed it. Restaurant service could be slow, and breakfast service was downright rude. For a supposed five-star hotel, don’t expect black tea. They also seemed to have no idea what gluten-free means. I got salad for both courses, with two thin slices of eggplant added to the main, and was left starving. There are plenty of more interesting, appetizing gluten-free meals. We were there for one night at the start of a whale-watching liveaboard tour.

I went to a wedding here recently and was impressed by the food and the accommodating service. It’s one of the nicest venues I’ve attended for a wedding. I didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the room. Fine work by the La Posada staff.

The rooms look amazing, and the hotel itself is incredible to look at. But using the facilities was disappointing. Room service is offered, yet the phones don’t work. The jacuzzi and chairs weren’t clean, and the beautiful shower splashes water all over and leaves a mess. They need to make some improvements, or there’s little point staying if you can’t enjoy what the place offers.

We held our wedding reception at La Posada last week, and it was fantastic. Lui, the events coordinator, was responsive and a joy to work with. Our guests were all very impressed.
