The location’s great, close to the museums, malecon, and lots of good local restaurants. There’s a large grocery store two blocks away and a wonderful coffee place right across the street. My partner and I stayed nearly two weeks in a private room. It was small compared with a hotel room, but the AC and wifi worked well, the water was hot, and the beds were comfy. The rates are excellent, especially if you book for a week or longer. There’s also a big shared area with a large kitchen that has everything you need to cook.

They have parking for a car, though street parking is easy too. The staff and owner made the hostel feel welcoming, and it was very clean and well maintained, with original art throughout. Our private room was tiny, but had windows, AC, and a private bathroom with a shower. The bed was a small double, not a queen or king. They throw a very loud party once a week that runs until 1 am, so plan around that.

The shared spaces were a highlight: a large, clean, well-equipped kitchen, plus good social areas for meeting other travellers. Toilets and showers were cleaned daily and kept stocked. I stayed in a basic private double in a converted shipping container. It wasn’t spacious, but had AC and a very comfortable bed. The hostel is about a 1 km walk from the sea front.

My girlfriend and I planned to stay one night, then ended up staying four. It feels like a fun little art community, and there was an afternoon music showcase while we were there. Having that sense of community was rad. It’s clean, the shower was hot, and the bed was good. The rooms are really small, but that didn’t bother us. We’d absolutely stay again!
