Ecolodge Las Nubes Chiapas

At night, little lights seemed to dance right in front of our hut. During the day, you can walk or climb alongside the wild water as it cuts through the jungle. The place is incredibly beautiful, and the turquoise water was just the right temperature.

The views are worth the effort if you enjoy nature, but those stairs make for a long hike. There are small caves, or tunnels as some people call them, and you’ll want good knees and no underlying conditions. It was very hot even in late December, so take plenty of water. We didn’t stay there, but it was a beautiful experience.

The front desk felt a little lacking, and the staff weren’t especially warm or informative. The restaurant service was great, though, and dinner was tasty. The setting is beautiful, with well-kept spaces and cabins right by incredible waterfalls. Our guide (Rube?) was knowledgeable and professional. It’s definitely worth staying a night or two.

Swimming above the waterfall was a great experience. The waterfall itself is really beautiful, and there’s an easy, very nice jungle trail up to the mirador. I’d definitely recommend staying here for a day.
