The daytime staff were pleasant, the beds were comfortable, and the rooms were clean. Nights were quiet overall, though the rooms are definitely not soundproof as advertised, and hallway noise carries. The free breakfast restaurant is open only around 8:30-10:30, with limited options: basically toast, fruit, and coffee, not a continental buffet. I stayed at Othelo for the first time, May 13-17, 2024. There are some things to know before booking. My room had AC, and it worked well, which mattered with 36 C weather. But the power went out one evening, which is apparently fairly common in the area. None of the windows in my room opened even a crack, so it became unbearably hot, like a sauna. I had to sleep at my girlfriend's place that night. At night, you have to be buzzed in and out. That may help with security, since it's a rough part of town, but the night employee, whose name I didn't get, was incredibly bitter and seemed to hate his job. He slept on the lobby couch and acted as though I shouldn't wake him to leave or enter. That happened all three nights. A murder had happened at the taco stand across the road a while ago, and there was a heavy police presence one evening because of some daytime event. I didn't feel safe walking alone at night. I told the manager what happened and asked for one night's reimbursement for the power outage. They offered a voucher for one night at the hotel instead, which I declined. With similarly priced options in the area that seem to offer more, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

The hotel sucks. The rooms smell funny, the breakfast is a joke, and the rooms don't even have windows facing outside. The only plus is the location, but Leon is so small that it's more worthwhile to stay at another branch, like holiday inn, which is just a tad more expensive, instead of choosing this one just for convenience. The staff aren't friendly and don't resolve problems.

The rooms were nice and clean, and the cleaning ladies did a phenomenal job every time. They also let us book an extra room at the last minute, in the middle of the night.

The glass staircase is beautiful, and the whole place has a quiet, cozy feel. We stayed just one night on 24-10-2023 before continuing our road trip, and it suited us well. The small room had what we needed, with a comfortable bed and pillows, a roomy bathroom, basic shampoo and soap, and reliable hot water. Breakfast was served to order: coffee or tea, bread with jam and butter, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. The receptionist was friendly, wheelchair access was available at the entrance, and parking was free but at a separate location, so ask reception about it when you arrive. Check-in is at 15:00 and check-out at 12:00. We didn't hear noise overnight. The Wi-Fi could be slow, and the shower water spread poorly.
