The location is handy, near the Mission and just a few blocks from the sea, with restaurants and a supermarket nearby. There's a kitchen, though the hotel itself doesn't serve food or drinks. A very friendly, knowledgeable couple run this cozy little place. They speak Spanish and English, and the traditional Mexican decor is lovely. It's informal rather than upscale.

It's a nice place with big rooms, gardens, lots of books, and a central, safe location. The owners are lovely, the atmosphere is generous and friendly, and the rates seem reasonable for the amenities. They speak excellent English and take great care of customers. I really like the place, but I'm writing this at 1 a.m. after getting no sleep. Two guard dogs in the compound next door have been barking without a break, there's music and crowds from a dance club a couple doors down, and the mission bells ring every half hour. Cars, trucks, motorcycles with no mufflers, and car radios also make frequent noise on the main drag where the hotel is. Maybe I caught a bad spell, or had temporary neighbors. Without the dogs, I might have tuned out the rest as annoying distractions, the flavor of Mexico, perhaps. Still, I can only cautiously recommend it to heavy sleepers with earplugs. I'll probably try somewhere else next time, though I really do like it. If you're concerned, you could call and ask about the current situation.

Debora and her husband were incredibly helpful in all sorts of ways. We were a French couple traveling with two very young children and spent a whole week over the Christmas holidays in the casita at the Damiana inn. It was a wonderful stay, and we'd love to come back to see more whales. Thanks, Debora and Gerardo!

The room setup was just right for traveling, with shared kitchen facilities and comfortable seating both inside and outside. It was clean and quiet, and the hosts were personable. The inn is right in the center of town. Highly recommend!

This inn feels like home, with private rooms that have their own toilet and shower. Restaurants and bars are close by, and it's a short walk to the Malecon boardwalk along the Sea of Cortez. Keep in mind that there aren't many places to swim in downtown Loreto. For swimming, you'll need to hire a panga or book a trip to the islands. AMAZING!! The water is crystal clear and the marine life is incredible. Martin and his boat, Teresita, gave visitors a fantastic day. You can also check with Land and Sea company and Jordan, who were accommodating and professional. Remember to use sunscreen approved without artificial ingredients. Did I mention it's AMAZING!!!
