Hotel Industria

The pool area was cluttered with mops and buckets, and the tables were chipped. The manager was rude and turned passive-aggressive when he had to cancel my payment. He was talking badly about me as I left. I recorded him and took pictures for my own records. Very unprofessional, and I won't recommend this place to anyone. I came to stay for the weekend because my beautiful home in Magdalena is under construction. I booked believing the place was worth the price. Hotel.com said early check-in was available, but the listing never mentioned that the room was literally beside the front desk, about three feet from the door. You could hear everything, even people walking across the floor. The TV wouldn't respond to the remotes, and the white bed blanket was stained. I asked for another room, and the young man said they were all rented, but there were vacant rooms and no other guests. The older, dark, big-bellied manager got upset because I didn't want to stay after he'd kept us waiting 20 minutes. I think he was cleaning another room, but its floor had a hole covered by a rug, and he kept saying it would cost more. Money wasn't the issue. Things went downhill fast after we arrived, and his tone kept changing. He told me to go find another room and come back for my refund, as if I'd just agree to that. He didn't like that I stood my ground. He told me to read the room description next time. I had read it, and it didn't say the front desk would be right outside the door or that everything could be heard.

We only stayed one night and slept for a couple of hours, so I wish we'd had more time to enjoy the room. It's a lovely little hotel, beautiful and very clean, with nice staff. The only issue for me was that the restroom wasn't separate from the room. Whenever someone pooped, the smell filled the whole room. I imagine you might not have that problem in a suite, since the room may be separated.

The location is perfect, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms look smaller in person than in the photos, but it's still good value for a very nice boutique hotel.

Hotel Industria is an incredible spot for a meal or a stay in beautiful Magdalena. No question, I highly recommend it. 20-star!
