Hotel Plaza Tucanes

From outside, the hotel looks nice, but our stay was awful. On the first night they told us there were five beds, then said the sofas counted as beds when we complained. The next night the water was shut off, so we couldn't shower, use the toilet, or wash our hands. We asked to switch rooms and were refused because the others were supposedly full. Four hours later they let us use another room just to shower, but there was no warm water, so we had to use cold. The staff were very inconsiderate. I wouldn't come back.

We had a huge, comfortable room with a fully equipped kitchen, even a blender. It's a bit dated and quirky, but comfortable for the price. The hotel was quiet, service was great, and the little restaurant had excellent food and drinks. The pool isn't heated, but it's a nice place to sunbathe. Hot water was occasionally a bit of a problem. There are lots of stairs, which was a little hard for my girlfriend while she was recovering from a broken foot, but manageable. The location worked for us with a car. Without one, it would be difficult, with a long walk over slippery cobblestones to the main road for a bus.

Nothing worked. The A/C was out, the water stopped while we were showering, and the mattresses and sheets were dirty. There was rat droppings everywhere. We woke up to a flooded room, with our clothes and luggage ruined. Worst hotel ever!

The rooms are beautiful, and the view from the lobby is just as lovely. Definitely one of the best hotels in manzanillo.
