I stayed in bungalow #41, with two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms and two bathrooms. The view from the bungalow was very pleasant, and the bungalows are large for a relatively low price. Los Riscos is a very old building and needs maintenance, though. There should also be more security, since anyone can come and go freely, and people often party at the pool until the early hours. The pool isn't heated, so you probably can't use it in winter. The view is excellent, from the port all the way to La Boquita beach. The closest beach is Playa de la Audiencia, but it's small and can be hard to find space there on holidays and during busy periods.

The only real positives for me were that pets are allowed and the beach view is beautiful. This was the only place in the area that accepted my dog and cat. But for this price, there are much better beachfront hotels, and I would never book here again. I do not recommend it at all. If you're thinking about staying, think twice and find another option. We arrived to a filthy kitchen, including the stove, refrigerator, counter, and the few dishes they provide. The water dispenser was dirty too, and they left just one empty jug for us. Nothing was done to clean the pool during our stay. It was more or less clean when we arrived, then after a couple of days the water was cloudy and full of trash. The facilities are generally neglected. The living room air conditioner doesn't work. Water leaks from the showers into the bathroom area, and even into the bedroom and hallway. There were ants in a bedroom and in the kitchen, and on the first day we found a spider the size of a coffee cup hiding under a sink. The sinks were clogged and drained very slowly. The lights in both bathrooms were shorted out, and we were afraid of getting electrocuted in the shower. The bedroom air conditioners are badly located. One faces the terrace, where the heat it puts out makes it uncomfortable. You either have the bedroom air conditioner on or sit on the terrace. If you leave the living room door open while it's running, all that heat gets into the living room, where the air conditioner doesn't work anyway. The other bedroom unit is a constant hazard, in a small, enclosed room with poor ventilation. It produces a lot of heat, and the water heater and, worse, the kitchen gas tank are in that same room. There's no staff around to deal with problems, just one person in the mornings. They don't check whether you're comfortable during your stay, and at checkout they don't even ask for feedback. The internet is terrible and only works when staff are there. It makes you think they disconnect it or limit it so much after their shift that you can't even send or receive a WhatsApp message. Cell service only works if you have Telcel. With another provider, you have to go into a Walmart or Sam's Club to get a signal. It's as if there's a cell signal jammer all over Manzanillo. The nearest beach is a 10-minute drive away. Walking isn't an option because it's all uphill and very hot. For what they charge per night, it's unfair that they don't clean the bungalows even once a day. If you want a cleaning, they charge $300 each time.

The air conditioners work really well, luckily. The location and view are perfect, but the villas sit below a restaurant and beside a bar, so music plays all night in the rooms. The amenities leave a lot to be desired. There are thousands of light fixtures, but only a few work, and everything is very old and neglected. The shower drains clogged several times. The pool is overly chlorinated, and most of the chairs around it have broken backs. They promise Wi-Fi and Netflix, but those are only available in one of the rooms. In the villa below, the TV had no remote and no sound, and it was questionably clean. I attached a picture of a huge fingernail I found.

This is a unique place, with apartments set up for 4, 6, or 8 people, a pool, and really pleasant terraces. The beach views are the best in all of Manzanillo.
