Hotel Hacienda la Puerta de Enmedio

Avoid this place. The hotel is awful and badly maintained. The rooms are old and dusty, with dampness and toilets missing their seats. The kitchen appliances don't work, and when I arrived, they had no record of my paid reservation. Nobody seemed to know what was going on.

The accommodations are rustic, but the staff were helpful and there’s indoor parking for motorcycles.

The water supply was a problem, it ran out while I was showering. The bathroom was disgusting, and the sheets and towels were dirty, with dust everywhere. The room smelled strongly of damp, and the balcony looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. This felt like an abandoned mansion that hadn't been cleaned in months, not a hotel. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Book elsewhere or look for something in town.

We had to switch hotels just two hours before check-in, and the photos didn't match what was actually there. One room had cockroaches, the rooms were dusty, the walls stained, and there was a strong smell of damp and stagnant water. It was very cold inside, with lots of air coming through the windows and doors. The outdoor areas were old, dirty, and neglected. The one bright spot was the gentleman who helped us, whose service was good. I booked through an online agency, but when we arrived they didn't know about the reservation and the gentleman was upset he hadn't been told. The rate online was twice what you pay in person, and they list it as non-refundable because they know people are leaving. Very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it.
