If you’re in H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas, and plan to be out enjoying the city most of the day like I do, this place works well as somewhere to sleep.

The room was clean, though dated, and the hotel is just five minutes from downtown. I was only there for a night and had no real problems. Parking was very limited, but the attendants were helpful. The front desk woman wasn’t rude, though she gave me very little information about taxis, nearby places to eat, or things to see.

The pool area has a separate kiddie pool, shaded patio and tables, and there’s also a dining room where hotel staff bring food from the menu. The staff are very polite, and the rooms, bathrooms and comfortable beds are all extremely clean. I come to Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México every time, and this is my favorite place to stay. The rates work for a family of five. I’d recommend HOTEL POSADA DEL REY over anywhere else in the city.
