Hotel Mina Real Matehuala

The rooms are nice, and the hotel is new and modern, but it feels overpriced for the city at over $100 (US) a night, especially with so few amenities. There’s no pool or restaurant. The rooftop terrace is nice, but there’s no shade and the furniture is always covered. For some reason, they bought cardboard sheets.

The staff were always kind, attentive, and helpful, and the place was clean and comfortable. We stayed three nights and would stay again whenever we’re in the area. It felt very safe and relaxing, and I highly recommend it. Five stars.

My family and I stayed for about two weeks and were very satisfied with the hotel and the attention we got. Everyone was super helpful, especially Ms. Karina at the front desk, who always went above and beyond with our questions. Our one small complaint is that the beds are full rather than queen. Other than that, we’re very grateful to everyone at the hotel. Thank you, Saenz family.

After two days in the almost magical but very rustic town of Real de Catorce, we needed a place for the night before heading back to our Airbnb in Monterrey. We’d spent the previous two nights in a rustic room without heat, so this felt like an oasis. The room was warm on a cold night, the bed was very comfortable, and the room and linens were clean. The shower had strong, hot water. We ate dinner at the nice little Italian-style restaurant at the front of the hotel, then had brunch the next morning at a lovely diner.
