The price was $31 out the door, so I can't complain too much. It's a bit of a stretch to call it a boutique hotel, and the water never got hot. That spiral staircase is tough with luggage, too. Still, the friendly service, location, and quaint feel made up for some of the drawbacks. Worth a visit if you want to experience old town Mazatlán.

We were supposed to stay nine days, but left after one night. The photos made the place look fresh and updated, which wasn't what we found, and they wouldn't refund the unused amount. I was excited to find somewhere new in Old Mazatlan, but at check-in they seemed focused on collecting the rest of the money after already taking half as a deposit. Our first room felt like a storage closet, with a musty old couch, dingy sheets, mattresses stored in the bathroom, and a shower leaking onto the floor. They moved us to a better room, or so I thought. The kitchen was small and unusable, a cabinet door came off when I opened it, and the bathroom faucet wasn't attached properly. At least there was some hot water. We had to buy toilet paper because there was only half a roll, and there weren't any other amenities. The linens were old, the towels were torn and dingy, and the sofa, though better, was still stained. Mazatlan has a place in my heart and I'll return, just never to this hotel.

They first told me they weren't listed on Booking.com anymore and couldn't honor my reservation. That made no sense after I'd contacted them a few days earlier about adding someone, and they said I could change it by phone or at the hotel. Staff claimed it wasn't a hotel anymore, then said they were full with no rooms available. Getting a refund was another whole story, and they disclaimed any responsibility. The place looked abandoned, there was nobody at reception, and no one answered despite my many calls.

No hot water, no TV, and the staircase is extremely narrow. There was never anyone at reception, the service was terrible, and there's no handrail on the second floor. 😕 Horrible place.

There's usually nobody at reception to help, and the Wi-Fi is terrible. The rooms are really old and need a lot of maintenance. The air conditioning didn't work, and the TV isn't smart. Also, there's no pool or gym, despite what was mentioned.
