The staff didn’t seem well trained to sort out problems. They just wanted payment, then left you to handle the rest yourself. The AC units don’t work, and nearly all the elevators were out of service. If you’re on the 2nd FLOOR, you’re out of luck with only one working. This place is terrible, a hellhole, and I wouldn’t recommend it. I should’ve chosen somewhere else.

Alan Renteria and Kimberly Ramirez welcomed me at the Doubletree in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, with the warmest greeting and delicious chocolate chip cookies, just like the Hilton tradition. They were so kind and even upgraded me to an ocean view room that was better than I expected. I wish every hotel were like Hilton. Thanks for such an incredible stay in Mazatlan!

That ocean view made breakfast at Islas del Sol especially memorable. I could hear the waves while looking out at the sea, and the setting felt intimate and soothing. The toast was fresh, crisp outside and soft and warm inside, with butter and homemade jam that tasted naturally sweet and full of ripe fruit. From the moment I arrived, the welcome was warm. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, happy to handle requests and offer suggestions, and I felt well looked after throughout. The breakfast and the view made for a lovely morning meal. Whether local or visiting, I’d call this a must-visit, and I’m sure it’ll leave you with cherished memories.

The corner suites are the pick, with views all around. They have two bedrooms and two bathrooms downstairs, then a living room and kitchen upstairs. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there are plenty of restaurants around the hotel. The poolside restaurant serves tasty, inexpensive appetizers and alcoholic drinks, and they’ll deliver food to your room. It’s open 8-4 pm, Monday to Friday. The view from the bedroom and living room is beautiful, and the beach is seven steps down from the pool area. The downsides are pretty clear: the rooms need a major remodel, the beds are rock hard, the hardwood stairs are slippery, and the internet works only about 80% of the time. It’s a 16-floor place with just two elevators, each holding a maximum of five people, and you risk getting stuck.
