Old Mazatlan Inn

The hosts at Old Mazatlán Inn made us feel welcome and looked after us so well that I felt compelled to recommend it. O'Neil and Jorge answered our questions about what to do in Mazatlán and made sure we had what we needed. We were there in the off season, when few other guests were staying, but they didn’t forget about us and went out of their way to make the trip pleasant. A tropical storm/hurricane hit Sinaloa north of Mazatlán while we were there, bringing a lot of rain. Some came under our door into the room. We weren’t surprised or upset, since that can happen when wind and rain batter a condo. We came back from lunch to find the room mopped and the water taken care of without asking. Our hosts also moved us to a larger unit without being asked. Old Mazatlán Inn is a charming place near the historic Centro of Mazatlán, a couple of blocks from one of the city’s nicest beaches, and close to lots of restaurants. It’s away from most of the hotels, in a quieter, more genuine part of Mazatlán. The rooms are condos, with everything you might need, including a small kitchen, television, desk, and chairs. There’s a lot of care in the decor and design of the units and outdoor spaces. The terraces are a lovely feature, with views of both the ocean and the city. We rarely feel moved to review a place, but we had such a lovely stay that we’d know where to stay if we return to Mazatlán.
