Venados Inn

Really nice, just nice.

The restaurant space was lovely, with a great view and plenty of natural light and ventilation. The price was very reasonable for the area, and the location is excellent, right by the beach with shops and restaurants close by. Our room was comfortable and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Noise was a problem, though, since the beach area stayed loud late into the night. The internet was slow, and we had no hot water for my entire stay. We had to shower cold, which worried me because my daughters had the flu. They offered to take us to another hotel to shower, but we declined. We were covered in sand and just wanted to wash off. Breakfast wasn’t great, and the servings were very small. I don’t think they provide room cleaning, since nobody cleaned during our stay. I asked for a mop and bucket and cleaned it myself. I didn’t mind doing that, and preferred it to staying in a filthy mess. It was okay overall.

The location in a prime area was the one good thing. During my stay there was never hot water, the bathroom drain clogged when I showered and smelled awful, and the TV only got two channels. They didn’t change the sheets either. Breakfast was the same every day and had no taste. I honestly can’t recommend this place. Save yourself the experience.

Venados Inn was just what my husband and I wanted for a simple weekend near the Golden Zone. The service was excellent throughout, and even though the rooms are small and basic, they had what we needed to be comfortable. The facilities were in good condition, and breakfast was included for us. Restaurants and bars are close by, and the beach is only a few minutes away across the street. It’s not a quiet choice, since nightlife noise from the Golden Zone carries in. We used it as a place to arrive, sleep, swim, and then head out to enjoy Maza. I’d recommend it for good value in a great Golden Zone location.
