The beds were cozy, breakfast was plentiful, and the rate was fair, with mostly locals staying here. The shared-room setup worked well for me, and I appreciated the chance to rest and renew myself. La Ermita sits in one of Mérida’s quaint historic corners, where many locals live. We visited the churches, and I felt that things manifested quickly in the area. If you let yourself explore, spirits and forces of nature will guide you along the way. Watch out for pockets of energy that drain your vitality, you’ll sense them right away, so bring mosquito repellent. The beds and the other guests weren’t really things to weigh against the price. It’s a humble place to experience Mérida’s religious, faithful community, so be reverent.
