TreeHouse Boutique Hotel - Adults Only

The staff were the bright spot: kind and accommodating. We had an early tour, and they kindly packed yogurt and granola for us. The hotel seems to have potential, but I think the staff need better training. Our room was charming at first glance, with two glass walls, but being on the first floor meant we had to keep the blinds down all the time. It was very dark, with too little lighting in both the room and bathroom, and I couldn’t get ready properly. The advertised queen bed was a Mexican queen, smaller than a US one, and the thin walls let us hear everything outside. Breakfast was modest and poorly organized, with no salt or pepper on the table; the eggs were cold and bland. I had high expectations for a Michelin-recommended place, so the stay was very disappointing. I wouldn’t return.

The place is quiet and feels safe, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I liked the individual-building layout, though the room was small, especially the bathroom. Staff were fantastic and very friendly, and we also met the owner, who shared some insight into the project. Breakfast is basic, but the coffee shop next door, which has the same owner, offers more choices. We travel a lot, and I found prices in Merida too high for what the city offers.

Eric looked after every need with real care and made us feel like old friends. The rooms are compact but cleverly laid out, with lovely details. Breakfast was delicious and homemade. You can walk everywhere from the Treehouse’s front door. We had a fabulous stay.

A lovely, quiet retreat close to so many good restaurants, with helpful staff and thoughtful details throughout. The coffee and pastries next door are the best. I’d recommend it and we’ll be back soon.
