The staff were very nice and all spoke some English, and the price was hard to beat. From this hotel in the center of old Merida, you can walk pretty much everywhere. The downside is noise: it faces the back of the "Mayan bar," where live rock bands play Friday through Sunday until about 2 am. If your room is on that side, sleep is difficult. The rooms are also dated, probably not updated since the 80s, if I had to guess.

The bed was soft, which I LOVED, though it may not suit you if you prefer a firm mattress. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, and the staff were super friendly. For me, this was the best hotel in town, with a perfect location. If I come back to Merida, I'll definitely stay here again.

I loved almost everything and had an amazing stay. We had to ask for a refrigerator, and luckily one happened to be available. There were no forks or spoons in the room either, so we used plastic spoons all week. I guess we should've requested those too. It's a nice hotel and I'll definitely return, but next time I'm bringing my own spoons.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, and the hotel is clean and tidy. Shops and restaurants are close by, and the plaza is a five minute walk away. The location is perfect.
