The dorms were dirty and smelled like piss, and the doors were broken. I couldn't swim in the pool because it was full of ants and mosquitos. The kitchen facilities were disgusting, and there was no social life. Nobody at reception spoke a word of English. We found much better places for less money. Worst hostel we stayed in.

A colorful, really clean place, close to the airport by car and an easy walk to downtown food, music, shopping and convenience stores. The backyard has a small but deep, cold pool. Rooms are simple, with comfy bunk beds, and the bathrooms were clean. They offer basic breakfast, coffee, toast, fruit and cereal. They'll give you a towel, or two, if you ask. No lockers, but they can store your backpack for the day. The staff were so sweet, friendly, helpful and happy. I'd definitely stay here in Merida for an easygoing time.

The room had a damp smell, and the WiFi was patchy at best, with no signal in the dorms. There were no private plugs or lockers, even though the rooms are big enough for lockers. The toilets were in a large concrete box with no ventilation. I also didn't interact with anyone. I find the high scores a bit baffling.
