Hotel Casa Palomino

The location is the only good part. The walls feel like paper, so you hear your neighbors talking or watching TV, everything. There was no rest. At night there was a terrible smell from the drain, really unpleasant. The so-called breakfast was just a small plate of fruit, and you had to pay for anything more. I don't recommend this Paper Hotel.

I felt secure here the whole time, and it was an easy walk to Paseo de Montejo, cafes, shops, and restaurants. The hotel is peaceful, quiet, comfortable, clean, and low-key, not busy. Breakfast was a fruity continental one with coffee. Wi-Fi worked, though it wasn't the best. The customer service was exceptional, with someone always available to help with hotel or travel issues.

Jose, Candy, and Charisa were incredibly helpful and made us feel like we were their only guests, even though the hotel was full. The light breakfast buffet was enough for us. We got there after a cold front, so we didn't try the small, clean pool. I mistakenly booked a week beyond when we actually needed the room, but manager Jose sorted it out when we arrived early. We did have to move rooms halfway through the stay, but both were spacious, spotless, and within walking distance of central Merida attractions. We'll plan to return.

We had a lovely stay. The room was nice, with strong AC, blackout curtains, plenty of hot water, and a view of the street, but it stayed quiet. Wi-Fi was fast, and the included continental breakfast came with good coffee. It's a new hotel. Recommended.
