Hyatt Regency Merida Hotel

We used 35,000 points for five nights at the Hyatt Regency Merida. At the time of this review, it was a Category 1 property, with reward nights starting at just 5,000 points, so the redemption felt like great value. We chose the 7,000-point option with Regency Club access to try the lounge, which was a nice touch. The location was central and convenient, the food was consistently good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay.

The rooms, location, and service are good, but the room service doesn’t run 24/7, even though the hotel app says it does. They also only offer breakfast through room service before 12. In my opinion, these are services you should expect at any Hyatt, and they’re missing here. I won’t choose this hotel again. Pick somewhere better.

The convention spaces are well organized and work very well for corporate events. I was there for a convention, and the hotel was attractive, with attentive, helpful staff. The rooms were spacious and well equipped, and the king-size bed was extremely comfortable. It’s about a 20-minute drive from the airport, which was convenient. I ate all my meals at the hotel. The traditional Mexican food was tasty, but there wasn’t much variety and it got repetitive fast. The gym was decent, though small for a hotel this size and in need of better equipment. The bathroom had only a curtain instead of a proper shower enclosure, and the air conditioning was quite noisy.

I worked remotely here for a week, and it did the job. The staff were really nice, helpful, and accommodating. The hotel feels a little old and is starting to show its age. Its location was okay, though a bit outside Merida’s main area. Overall, an average stay.
