NH Collection Merida Paseo Montejo

We slept well enough on a pretty good bed, and the road-facing side was quiet. Our friends were less lucky: a courtyard performance on Saturday went on until 3 am and kept them awake. There was plenty to like, including free parking, a nice lobby, excellent breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. The rooftop and its pool were pleasant, though the water was quite cold. The common areas looked a little worn, and dehumidifiers running in the hallways felt odd, though it wasn’t a major issue. Our hot water barely worked. Staff said we weren’t using it correctly and sent someone to help, but we were heading out.

Diana at the front desk quickly sent two people to deal with a small problem we had with the sinks. I also figured out that to get hot water from the sink and shower, the handle needs to be turned left and up. A sign explaining that might help. My husband and I had a very comfortable eight-night stay. It was meant to be nine nights, but WestJet cancelled our flight at the last minute on Jan 1, and the hotel kindly charged us for only eight. The king-size bed had very good sheets, and the room was comfortable, with a bathroom that had two sinks and a shower. Special thanks to Diana, Elmer the bellboy, Omar who cleaned our room, and the breakfast staff. Breakfast had a huge, tasty selection of hot and cold food, fruit, sweets, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. I’d recommend the NH hotel and will definitely return.

We only came by to pick up belongings a friend had left behind, so we didn’t stay there. The desk on the second floor looked posh and very luxurious, and the staff were extremely friendly. Downstairs there’s a large open-air Plaza with plenty of shops and cafes around it.

We spent a week at NH Collection and I’d recommend it. The rooms were clean and really spacious, and I liked the pool and gym. I just wish the pool opened before 8 am or stayed open past 8 pm, since we couldn’t find enough time in the day to use it. The front desk team were consistently friendly and helpful, and answered lots of our questions. Thank you!
