NOKTOS Extended Mérida

Check-in got a bit tangled over the number of nights I’d booked. Once they straightened it out, though, I had a great time.

I first came when the place opened, and back then it had dishes and everything. Now there’s nothing, and the quality has dropped a lot. They used to have a breakfast bar, but now there’s no breakfast at all. It’s still decent, but I miss how it used to be.

A very good hotel. The beds were comfortable, and the big carrier AC unit in the room was nice. They’d already cooled the room for us before we arrived, since we had a reservation. There’s a pool and gym too, though I didn’t use them. They looked nice.

I’ve stayed at many similar places in the U.S., and after just checking in for 16 days, I can say this one is far superior. The staff are excellent and spoke perfect English, and the grounds are clean and well organized. My room is simple and clean. One thing: unlike the photos, there’s no chair or couch, just small plastic chairs, so there isn’t really anywhere comfortable to sit. Also, the ashtray is right by the front door. The smoking area should be moved farther from the entrance so smoke doesn’t bother guests.
