One Mexicali

The one washer and one dryer for the entire hotel were a joke. The elevator only takes three people, and getting downstairs took me a full 10 minutes. There was just one towel in the room, and the shower had barely any pressure, lots of hair, and a very slippery floor. Be careful if you’re traveling with kids or an older person. The lobby smelled bad, and the customer service was terrible. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. If you’re deciding between this and the City Express Plus next door, pick that one. I’ve stayed there before and it’s 1000x better.

We waited almost two hours past check-in time for our rooms to be cleaned and ready. That’s the reason we won’t return. They need more staff, and the entrance needs to be safer because it gets very slippery in the rain. We were also given a key to a room that was already occupied, which was scary. The elevators only fit three people and can have a long wait. Bathrooms in two rooms weren’t clean, and our double-occupancy room had only one set of towels. On the plus side, the rooms were about 90% clean, the AC was cold, and it worked fine for a one-night stay.

The free breakfast was nice, and the hotel was clean and well located. Still, there was no room service or decor, and I couldn’t find an ice bucket or corkscrew for the bottle of wine I’d bought. Our room faced a nightclub with outdoor music, and it was so loud that this may have been our last stay at this hotel. It’s decent otherwise.

Breakfast is included and was great. The hotel is in a quiet part of the city, close to restaurants and an oxxo. The rooms feel modern and clean. They’re not big, but they’re big enough. Bring your own pillow, though. I found theirs hard.
