OYO Hotel Rey David, Oaxaca

Fine for a quick stopover.

A total failure.

We booked three rooms for five nights and couldn’t stay beyond the first night. The floors were dirty, bedding was missing or worn out, furniture was broken, toilet seats were missing, and there was no soap or shampoo. It looked nothing like the Expedia photos. We had to beg for towels and toilet paper. The hotel refused to refund the other four nights after we left. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had. Avoid it at all costs.

The hotel was in such bad shape that we left as soon as we arrived. The photos are completely unrealistic. Although we had paid in advance, they hadn’t received our reservation. The place was filthy, the sheets were dirty, and everything in the room seemed broken or damaged. There were empty alcohol bottles in the hallways, drunk people drinking beer and laughing loudly in the lobby, no internet, and the security cameras weren’t working. The neighborhood also felt unsafe. It looked more like a brothel than a hotel. We asked for a refund and were told to go through Booking.com. Later, the hotel falsely told Booking.com we had never been there, and we never got our money back. This hotel should be removed from Booking.com. Avoid it, you’ll regret it.
