Hotel Fontan Reforma Centro Histórico

I've traveled quite a bit, and this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. They advertise a shuttle and spa. My first room smelled like sewage, and after I'd unpacked I had to pack everything again to move. In the next room, the toilet wouldn't flush. They told me to lift the tank lid and hold it for the toilet to work. There were two of us, but they gave us just one of each towel. I asked for more the next day. Twenty minutes later none had arrived, so I went downstairs. The woman apologized and said she'd get them, but still hadn't arranged it. After all these problems, we spoke to the manager, who kindly offered free breakfast and 15% off at the rooftop restaurant. The service up there was awful. They forgot my drink, just said oops, sorry, and didn't clear our table until we asked. When we paid, they hadn't applied the 15% discount and had given us somebody else's bill. We explained that the manager had offered the discount, but they refused to honor it while the manager wasn't there. We said we'd pay the next day when the manager came. At first they wouldn't agree, then they did, shook her head, and we left around 10:30 PM. I went to my room and went to bed. My partner went out with his friend. At midnight, the front desk called my room asking for him. I said he wasn't there and asked why they were calling so late. They said he had to pay his bill. We'd left the restaurant at 10:30 PM, and they'd already agreed we'd pay the next day, yet they called about 90 minutes later. Then they sent a security guard up, who knocked on my door and harassed me until 1 AM. They kept knocking and calling until 2 AM. I had to get up at 6:30 AM for a flight. It was bad, unprofessional, immature harassment. I don't know how people are supposed to handle that. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone or want anyone else to have the same experience.

The location was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the rooftop bar was really nice, with both drinks and food on offer.

They never mentioned that patio parties go on every day until 2am. If your room is on that floor, good luck trying to sleep before then, you can hear EVERYTHING!!!! It's 12:46am now and I'm still waiting for them to turn the music down. If zero stars were an option, that's what I'd give.

The terrace restaurant has good views and the food was good, including breakfast. The hotel has a boutique feel, and both the location and views are accessible and nice. But service, amenities, upkeep, and cleanliness weren't so good. Our room wasn't kept very clean, and I found hair in the dryer. The locker still wouldn't work for me after they tried to fix it.
