Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Mexico Felipe Angeles Airport

The hotel staff called the police on our Uber driver. Be careful taking a ride, and don’t bring the driver into their lobby. I’ve never seen such pettiness. Their prices at the hotel are also higher than the prices on their own website.

Although the airport is only minutes away, finding the hotel was really hard. I arrived around 9:00 p.m., in the dark, and there were no clear signs. I used the hotel phone to ask how to reach reception, but they wouldn’t give directions until they had verified my reservation. Manager Daniel confirmed that this is their policy. After a long travel day, that made things especially stressful. Guests shouldn’t have to prove a booking just to learn how to get into the hotel. Poor customer service.

After two days of travel with a toddler, we arrived expecting the room for 2+1 that we had reserved and paid for in advance, from 6am to 12pm. We had specifically told the hotel when we’d arrive. They said our reserved room had been taken and there were no other rooms available. One star across the board. Very disappointing, and I can’t recommend it if you need to know you’ll have a place to stay.

The location is great, within walking distance of the airport, but our February stay was a rough one. The air conditioning in our first room didn’t work. We asked several times for someone to check it, but we were exhausted and needed sleep before a 7 a.m. flight. Someone finally came around midnight to look at the noisy, ineffective A/C, but couldn’t fix it. We had to move to a room on another floor, which was a major hassle. When we asked about a breakfast comp, the front desk said they couldn’t help until the supervisor arrived at 9 a.m. They offered only a water bottle worth 75 cents. That’s not how I’d expect loyal IHG customers to be treated, especially after paying approximately $200 USD at the time.
