Plan ahead with reservations, since tour groups can make the place busy. It's near the Coyocan neighborhood, with easy access to the Blue House and other spots. The hotel, food, and service were excellent.

The rooms are clean and excellent, and the staff are consistently helpful and caring. I really like this place and appreciated the excellent service. One thing to fix: I was told by phone that the taxi for a 5 km trip from the hotel would be free, but it wasn't. I was happy with the service itself and the drivers were gentlemen, and I don't mind paying. The information the hotel gives about it just needs to be accurate.

The bathroom changes have made the whole experience uncomfortable, and after years of loving this hotel, we're now looking for somewhere else. In the renovation, the main bathroom door disappeared, and the toilet got a glass door that doesn't fully close, leaving a gap of about 2 cm where someone can see you. The shower is very weak and narrow. Even though I'm small, it takes ages to get wet all over, then much longer to rinse off soap and shampoo. Maybe it saves water, but I can't tell. They also had no bench for our suitcase, saying the new "minimalist" design doesn't have room for one. It feels as if they assume sharing a room with your husband means you're fine using an open toilet. Not nice.

It's a basic hotel, nothing fancy, but the service is good. Breakfast has both a buffet and à la carte options, and we liked it. There are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, along with a mall. Coyoacan, a famous part of Mexico City, is also close.
