Hotel Escala Central del Norte

The room was spacious and very comfortable, and it even had a jacuzzi. The staff were attentive and professional. Christian welcomed us while checking our reservation at the front desk, and Alejandro was friendly and happy to answer questions there. At the restaurant, Ruth made our coffee just right. My wife and I stayed two nights at Escala before leaving CDMX for our flight home. I’m looking forward to coming back.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s handy for the Bus Station, just a six-minute walk along a busy, well-lit street, and a reasonable taxi ride from the airport. The towels were frayed, though that wasn’t a big deal. At 6 in the morning the shower water never got hot, or even properly warm, and there was no fridge in the room.

It feels like stepping back to 1983, very retro and quaintly dated, but the place is clean, convenient, and well situated. The staff are friendly, and Centrale del Norte bus station is only a few minutes away on foot. Since it’s on a main road, there’s noise and the building shakes with the traffic. Still, for the price and location, you can’t beat it.

We had a big room with a king bed and plenty of space. The place was clean, the wifi worked well, and the hot water was properly hot. The guy at reception was helpful with arranging rides. The cafeteria was quite satisfactory, but seemed understaffed because they were serving room service as well as people eating breakfast there. It was very inexpensive and quite nice. The main road didn’t bother us, but light sleepers without earplugs might want to ask for a room that doesn’t face it.
