The staff were so welcoming and put up with my mediocre Spanish. Angel, Augustin, Jesus, and Sara were especially helpful, along with a few others whose names I’ve forgotten. This lovely little hotel is right in the middle of Polanco, just steps from its highlights. The rooms have charm, and the corner room was surprisingly quiet even when the neighborhood got loud. The pool is a welcome break on hot days, and both breakfast and the poolside drinks and snacks were great.

The people made the biggest impression on us, especially Angel. He was so hospitable, remembered our names, and had great recommendations. We loved the room, breakfast, and happy hours too. After a stay like this, I’m not sure we could stay anywhere else in Mexico City. Thanks to everyone for such a great visit!

The people were kind, the breakfast included with the stay tasted better than I expected, and the hotel was quiet enough for me to work on my laptop and take calls. The WiFi was very strong too. Still, this felt like an average hotel in IHG’s collection, and almost $400 a night is ridiculous. The bathroom had a lingering shower drain smell on the second floor, and the AC vents blew stale air. There are no window screens, so opening a window means letting bugs in. The gym and pool are a fraction of the size shown in the website photos, and the rooftop felt more like a crowded club, with black chairs and tables. It didn’t feel luxurious or relaxing for that price. I’m sorry to leave this review because the staff were nice, but after staying at the Numu in San Miguel for about the same price, the difference was wild. IHG needs to charge a price that fits the place. Lower the rates and I’d give it a better rating.

The Kimpton Virgilio Polanco is in a fantastic spot. We walked to Chapultepec Parque every day and enjoyed the nearby neighborhoods and cafes. We plan to come back when we visit Mexico City again. Our room was lovely, with a great street view and a wide range of amenities. The staff were attentive throughout, and we really appreciated the excellent service at breakfast in Pepe restaurant from Agustin Flores and Sara Rodriguez. Muchas gracias por todo!

It’s a charming hotel in a lovely, upscale neighborhood, but the high price didn’t feel justified and I wouldn’t recommend it. The rooms seem outdated. Our curtains wouldn’t close all the way, which was especially frustrating because a police car sat outside all night with its lights on. Service at Pepe Restaurant was inconsistent and less attentive than I’d expect at this price level.
