Marquis Sky Suites

After a day of hiking, the massage was exactly what my sore body needed. My friend and I messaged on WhatsApp to ask about same-day availability, and were happy they had space for day passes and two massages. Mine was an 80-minute hot stone, or geothermal, massage, and it was heavenly. The therapist was excellent, checked in with me often, took her time, and got the temperature just right at the start. The day pass includes up to two hours in the jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room area. There’s a fee if you’re not staying at the hotel, and it’s pricey for Mexico, but I found it well worth it and would book again. I left relaxed and grateful. Thank you!

The spa was a great place to unwind after a full day out, with pools, a sauna, and a relaxing atmosphere. Marquis Reforma also has several restaurants serving Mexican and international food, and the room service was reliable when we wanted a quiet night in. The location on Paseo de la Reforma makes sightseeing easy. Chapultepec Park, museums, restaurants, and shops are all within a comfortable walk. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional from check-in through departure, and ready to offer help or recommendations. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. If you can spend a bit more, the Junior Suites are especially roomy and comfortable.

Javier V. at concierge was a huge help when I misplaced my purse and passport. He handled it calmly and efficiently, and his professionalism and responsiveness were invaluable. Elias at the Heritage Bistro Bar was also a delight, making us feel welcome at meals with attentive service and a great sense of humor. I had a memorable week at Hotel Marquis. The staff were warm and attentive, the property was spotless, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. My standard second-floor room had no view. The bathroom was clean and carefully maintained, though the tiles were cracked and showed their age. I was a little put off by the separate charge for Nespresso capsules, which felt like nickel and diming at a hotel of this caliber. Lobby coffee and tea are complimentary in the mornings, but the coffee was lukewarm all three times I tried it. The brick oven pizza on the upstairs patio was so good. The location is hard to beat: within a 15-minute walk there are four museums, lots of cafes and restaurants, and the area felt safe and comfortable. I’d highly recommend Hotel Marquis and hope to try the spa next time.

Breakfast was good, and everything we ordered through room service tasted delicious. Still, for a five-star hotel, it looks much worse than the nearby St. Regis, Four Seasons, or Ritz-Carlton, all within walking distance. The hotel needs remodeling: the showers are old and worn, and the foyer feels like a good hotel from the 1980s. We have LHW Sterling level, but got no welcome amenity or upgrade. Unfortunately, children aren’t allowed in the pool.
