RMS Hostal - Reforma

We had a private room with a friend, and it was comfortable, though we could hear everything both inside and outside. The shared facilities were awful. The second floor had just one toilet and shower, with clogged drains and water that was sometimes cold or unavailable altogether. There was no toilet paper, soap, or hand towels. In the kitchen there were no lighters or dish soap, no hot water at the tap, and sometimes no water at all. You have to pay cash since they don't accept cards. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless it's just one night and you don't need a shower. Bring your own toilet paper.

The place was hard to find, just a red door with no signs or emblems to show where you were. Inside, the rooms had doors you could see partly through, with only a thin curtain that still let hallway light in. The photos didn't match what we found. Showers were flooded, broken, or not working, and the toilet doors wouldn't close. Most had notices warning you not to shut them, because my friend got locked in one. The kitchen was bare, with barely any utensils, no hot water at the sink, and a fridge that was overfilled and gross. Construction outside our room went on until 8 each night. Staff spoke very little English and offered no advice or recommendations.

We booked three nights but a booking error meant we could only stay one. The place was a building site, and everything was disorganized. There was no running water, the toilets wouldn't flush and were overflowing, and we had to leave without brushing our teeth or showering because the taps were dry. Easily the worst hostel I've stayed in. Avoid it.

For three days there was no water at all, cold, hot, or drinking. They wouldn't give our money back, leaving us stuck in the situation. The staff treated us in a disgusting way that felt insulting to our dignity. If you care about your health, time, and money, never visit any of the many hostels in the roomies hostel network.
