Victor, one of the bellboys, went out of his way to help with a transportation problem for our hot air balloon tour to the pyramids. At 4 a.m. he came with us and lent us his phone to sort it out, so we could take the tour. The breakfast included in our reservation was varied and satisfying, too. The hotel is on a pedestrian-only main street, which was great for people-watching, and it’s very well placed for tourists. Our stay was delightful: quiet and comfortable, with friendly, efficient staff. I highly recommend it.

Because of the violence happening in Mexico right now, I didn’t want to put my family and myself at risk when we’d be flying out of Reynosa. I contacted the hotel to ask about changing the dates or cancelling. The only response was “NON REFUNDABLE” in all caps. I wasn’t asking because I wanted to; I plan to visit CDMX again when things aren’t so dangerous. The lack of empathy and customer support was atrocious. There are real risks right now, and management seems to value profit over people. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The location is great, but I’d only recommend this place if you have no other choice. If you book directly through the website, they charge the first night the day before check-in through a convoluted process, even if you have free cancellation. Room cards deactivate early on checkout day, which they say is their policy. Rooms can be noisy and very bright early in the morning, maybe on purpose.

The location is unbeatable, and the staff are helpful and nice. The food is quite good too. It’s not especially quiet, and the rooms are old and a bit rusty. Just an okay hotel.
