Sofitel Mexico City Reforma

Cityzen Rooftop Bar was the reason we came, and the views of Paseo de la Reforma and the Angel of Independence were among the best in Mexico City. The atmosphere felt upscale without being stuffy, and the seating was comfortable. Service was attentive and everything went smoothly. We weren’t staying at the hotel, but the lobby staff were welcoming, professional, and organized, so getting upstairs was easy. The property looked modern, beautiful, clean, and well cared for. We left with a strong impression of the service and presentation, and Sofitel seems like one of the area’s top luxury options. We’d come back on another trip.

The whole team was attentive and available, and their service helped make the experience memorable. We were warmly welcomed and really appreciated everyone’s professionalism and care throughout our time at Sofitel Mexico City. We’ll remember the stay fondly and hope to return soon. Diego at concierge was the best part of our stay. He helped my husband with his SIM card and was knowledgeable and helpful with anything I needed. I was in Mexico City for the first time recently, and the location was perfect, close to everything. The croissants were so good, and you have to try the Amorino ice cream next door.

Our junior suite was huge, with amazing views, a big bathroom and shower, and plenty of closet space. The rooftop lounge was also fun, with beautiful views and good drinks and snacks. The location felt safe and central, even though we didn’t do much nearby. The bed was uncomfortable, and it took more than a day to get anyone to address it. A hotel like this should have toppers to soften it. The down blankets didn’t help. The pool was underwhelming, with no real service or outdoor deck. Breakfast was average and lacked the food quality and fine dining feel I expected. The pastries were stale, omelets terrible, fruit often underripe or poor quality, and the coffee tasted like water. It didn’t feel five-star. Service and attention to detail need work too. The staff didn’t seem trained or invested. One night turndown never came, and glasses were taken away without replacements. This hotel has potential, but the food, service, and overall experience need improvement.
