Suites Rio Elba

We stayed in an interior room, 207, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The place is dated and not very clean, with thin sheets and towels and terrible lighting. For the price, there are more modern places a block away.

Our standard room was surprisingly spacious, with a very comfortable queen bed, a fridge, and a microwave. It felt like a new, high-end luxury hotel room, and the stay at Elba suites was terrific value. Highly recommend it.

The location is good, and the suite was fairly clean and decent for the price, but it’s very no-frills. The listing is inaccurate: there’s no restaurant, concierge, or even a waiting room. It seems like it may once have been an apartment complex. There’s no A/C, the internet is so slow that YouTube on the TV is basically useless, and the sofa is extremely soft. You sink almost to the floor, which isn’t comfortable if you’re tall.

The beds and pillows are hard, the phones in the room don’t work, and there’s no central air, A/C, or heater. There’s only a tiny window, and no iron or ironing board. At night, drunk guests in the building were screaming loudly and nothing was done. It’s like a two-room unit with a hallway between them, and the hallway’s sensor light kept switching on and off all night. The photos online don’t show what the place really looks like. The building is dark and feels like an apartment complex turned into a hotel, with no reception or front desk. There’s just a tiny back room where an employee sleeps on a sofa at night. The entrance is always locked, so you have to ring the bell to get in. The hall lights come on automatically as you walk through. I’ll never stay here again.
