The price feels fair for what you get, and I’ve sent several friends to Capital Suites. They all enjoyed it too. It’s become my regular choice again since I (sadly) moved away from CDMX, after being my usual place before moving to Mexico City. I like being able to wander around and get a little lost, and there are charming cafes and bars nearby. The location works perfectly for me and puts my favorite spots within walking distance, though I know that depends on which part of the city you prefer. The rooms have always been spacious, spotless, and fully equipped. Staff are friendly and easy to talk to. The WIFI is fast and dependable. I can’t comment on the gym, since even thinking about exercise gives me hives. It isn’t the cheapest option, but it’s nowhere near the most expensive either.

The neighborhood is handy, with shops, parks, and cafes close by, and I found Uber and Didi pickups quick and easy. Staff were excellent, though the room itself was just adequate. It had the basics, but I expected more kitchen and bathroom supplies. A ready-made pack with things like cooking pots, a coffee machine, and a hair dryer would have helped, even though those items are available free from the front desk if you ask. It’s not a quiet room. I could hear traffic, motorbikes, dogs nearby, and people in other rooms. Footsteps, doors, and toilets carried through too. One guest upstairs had a very loud conversation from 00:30 to 01:30, despite the stated quiet hours beginning at 21:00. Light sleepers should take that into account. I was staying there during the Mexico City earthquake at 07:58 on January 2, 2026. My phone was the only source of warning, and the shaking reached the hotel about ten seconds after the alert. The building moved from side to side but stayed intact, and guests got down the central stairs and out to the street in an orderly way while the tremor was still happening. The evacuation was driven by the guests, with no time for staff to respond. Staff were outside looking at the building afterward, but I didn’t get confirmation from them that it was safe to go back in. The public and hotel guests waited in the street to see what would happen. Once we re-entered, I saw small cracks running along a flight of stairs in the main stairwell. I was on a higher floor and due to check out, so I didn’t use the lift. From what I saw, the building seemed to withstand a 6.5 tremor quite well. If something like that happens, assess the risk for yourself. Keep your phone and a TV on in Mexico City to receive alerts from the Mexican authorities. If you can’t get outside, get under a table, kitchen bench, or the main door archway. I wouldn’t count on staff coming to get you, since they seemed to be among the first people out on the street.

The rooftop patio is a real highlight, with a view to enjoy over a drink, and there’s a free laundry room and gym up there. The staff are friendly, the location is convenient, and those features would make me book again. My room was plain and a bit stuffy, but it worked for one person. There was no AC, though the ceiling fan helped, especially with the balcony door open. The bathroom was very cramped, with the sink taking up the whole counter. The shower didn’t drain right because of the slanted floor, leaving water standing after each use. There’s a small kitchenette outside the small rooms, which came in handy since my mini fridge didn’t work. I could hear everything from the other room on the G floor, but otherwise it was fairly quiet above the carpark, away from the main street.

I’ve been here a week and have another one to go. It’s so comfortable, like a home away from home, and the price for what you get is amazing.

This is great value, and the neighborhood has plenty of bars, restaurants, and green space. The rooms are comfortable and have what you need, though the decor is very simple and businesslike. There seems to be a kitchen area guests can use, but we didn’t try it. If you’re okay with a place that doesn’t have much atmosphere, I’d recommend staying here.
