I was very disappointed with Gamma Monterrey Ancira during Ironman 70.3 Monterrey weekend. The hotel knew that over 85% of its occupancy was tied to the event, but the planning and service were still very poor. We couldn’t rely on the internet or phone service throughout our stay. That’s unacceptable during a major international event when guests need to communicate. At dinner, room service was also out of several items on the menu, which was frustrating after a long travel day and race preparation. There was no early breakfast option on race morning either. Athletes had to leave very early, so at least a basic breakfast should have been available. The lack of consideration for guests taking part in the event was disappointing. The stay fell short of expectations, and I wouldn’t recommend coming here during major events unless things improve significantly.

The hotel’s old, elegant lobby has a nice feel, and it’s a great base for walking around Macroplaza and Barrio Antiguo. There are lots of good spots and things to do nearby, and I’d book again. The king bed was comfortable, though the AC squealed. One window was off track, so maintenance had to come shut it. They only offer valet parking, but it’s free during your stay. Get a ticket and have it stamped in the lobby. The car can take a while to come, so allow about 3-10 minutes.

The team made a great impression, especially the people at the in-house bar and restaurant. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were expertly made, and the hospitality was warm and attentive. My room was roomy and inviting, with a shower that always had hot water and strong pressure. The smart TV was a nice extra for downtime. The hotel is in a prime spot that made exploring the area easy, and it was a relaxing place to return to after busy days. Gamma Gran Hotel Ancira deserves a place on your list if you’re visiting Monterrey.

A classy, modern hotel with helpful staff and a great location. The rooms look a bit older, but they’re still clean and good.

The pool area was lovely, and the room was clean and nice. The lobby is stunning, even better in person than it looks in the photos, and the staff were kind and always ready to help. It’s centrally located, great for exploring on foot, and close to everywhere we wanted to go. I also loved the noon checkout. 11/10, I’d stay again and definitely recommend it.
