Cabañas La Diligencia

The main letdown was the lack of hot water. Given how far La Diligencia is from the city, I expected a basic comfort like that to be available. The cabin itself was appealing, though, and I’d like to think this was an unusual problem. There’s a lot to like here. The grounds are surrounded by nature and feel calm, the welcome was friendly, and check-in was quick, with a clear list of what the room included. My cabin had a pleasant wood smell, plus a huge window looking onto an impressive tree trunk, so it felt close to nature even from bed. It also had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. La Diligencia has plenty of potential, and the staff were kind.

The receptionist was the one bright spot. The facilities look very nice, but it felt like they wanted to charge for everything, so we couldn’t really use them. Noise isn’t allowed after 9 pm, and the night guard was so rude that we felt uncomfortable for a long time. Bad experience, I DO NOT RECOMMEND VISITING.

They offered a pen as their “solution” for letting my dog into the cabin, as if she were an object instead of part of our family. We also weren’t told when booking that bringing a pet would cost extra, which felt like a scam. From arrival onward, the place was a disappointment. The dogs are kept in pens like farm animals, so I don’t think this place deserves to call itself pet-friendly. The person helping us was arrogant and ignorant, acting like she was doing us a favor instead of providing a service. A terrible experience, and I absolutely don’t recommend it.

We came to collect and preserve a honeybee hive, and the quiet, secluded feel made us want to stay longer. The cabins and spacious, well-equipped rooms were inviting, and the pool and palapa added to the appeal. Congratulations on the organization, cleanliness, and care for guests.
