Hotel & Posada Refugio Independencia

The rooms are roomy and clean, and the bathroom is spacious too. The hotel itself is small, though, and even with a computer at reception, reservation records aren’t kept accurately. Its location is the main problem: it looks like an ordinary house on a street that doesn’t feel very safe. It’s among the cheapest places in the city center, but the price still feels high given the setting.

Service is excellent, and the rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious, with very good TV and internet. It’s easy to get to several parts of town, even if the street looks a little rough. In room 1, the bathroom has no door :v. Apart from that, it’s an excellent hotel.

The outside noise and the long wait for hot water were the drawbacks. Otherwise, it’s a great option in Morelia: well located, affordable, pleasant inside, clean and comfortable, with good service.

It’s in a less attractive part of town, but it stays very quiet both day and night, except for the parking attendants if you have a car. The staff are friendly, the service is good, and it’s a nice place to spend a few days.
