Villa San Jose Hotel and Suites

We had a wedding there, and everything was organized perfectly. Breakfast seating was a little limited, so there might be a short wait, but it wasn't a big issue. The room was spacious, with a clean, fairly modern bathroom, and the air conditioning worked well. The person at reception was very kind and helped us with our luggage. It's a really nice place to stay.

The views are absolutely gorgeous, but that's about the only good thing. Our room didn't have the advertised fireplace or coffee pot, and we caught cockroaches on video and in photos. Doors kept slamming and the constant noise was awful, waking us all night. We contacted the hotel and got no response. The customer service was terrible, and they lied.

The setting is beautiful, with a spectacular view and peaceful scenery. But the massage was awful. The masseuse they called for the treatment seemed to know nothing about the body, and I felt cheated out of $700 pesos. It was the worst massage I’ve had, and I’ve had over 100.

The restaurant was a highlight for me. Dinner on our first night came with the gorgeous view, and I had the best enchiladas I’ve ever eaten. The breakfast buffet had so many tempting dishes, and everything smelled and looked delicious. Our room had two beds, a closet, heater and A/C, a decent-sized bathroom, and a little sitting area with a sofa, coffee machine and lamp. It was clean whenever room service came by each day, and the staff were polite and attentive. It’s a beautiful place overlooking Morelia, and I can’t wait to return. The shower head was the one thing I didn’t like.
