Real Primaveras Campestre

The food was the biggest letdown this time. We arrived around 8:30 and counted on the restaurant, which used to serve great empanadas, fresh salad, and fries. Instead, we got half-cooked quesadillas about the size of Doritos. The air conditioning barely worked, and the regular TVs had been replaced with tiny monitor-sized screens on desks, with no cable. I'd keep driving to Escarcega for a better hotel and meal. After at least 10 stays over six years, this was a big disappointment. I used to love this hidden gem for its restaurant, pool, clean rooms, hot water, and cold air conditioning. Maybe there's a new owner or a major change, but the new manager or owner has killed one of my favorite places.

We were counting on the restaurant being open when we arrived, but it was closed. Maybe that was because we came in the off-season. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning worked fine, though the pool had twigs and leaves in it.

The place has stylish furnishings and could be a really nice spot for a relaxed stay with a bit of care and maintenance. We couldn't make full use of what it offers, though, since the pool was dirty and the restaurant was closed.

The staff were really friendly and willing to help with what I needed. The rooms are basic and don't have any special amenities, but the grounds are beautiful and a treat for anyone who loves nature.
